AI-Generated Project Creates New Concept of Children’s Playgrounds

Art director and multidisciplinary creative Emilio Alarcón recently presented an intriguing new series called “Evocative Playgrounds.” In the series, made with the help of artificial intelligence, Alarcón showcases a new concept for children’s playgrounds.

These AI-generated playgrounds are centered on structures in the shapes of boats, locomotives, spaceships, and zeppelins. They are mainly made out of wood while featuring plastic and metal elements.

The designs feature bold and vibrant colors as well as accessories that will encourage the creativity and imagination of a child. The idea is for the child to become captivated by the things they see and be prompted to explore them further. They can become astronauts or sailors while using various play elements to get them further immersed in the imaginary world.

“These playgrounds are integrated into the thematic design trend, specifically designed to foster children’s creativity and imagination,” Alarcón describes the project. “Each of them features a unique theme and offers play structures that stimulate symbolic play and storytelling.”

Alarcón, who is based in Madrid, Spain, created the project using the text-to-image AI program Midjourney. He shares that he also had a “4-year-old advisor to ensure that the parks meet children’s expectations.”
