Anastasia Parmson is Giving Ordinary Spaces an Immersive 2D Makeover

If you still haven’t been introduced to the world of immersive, 2D interiors that bring the comic world to life, it’s time you learned Anastasia Parmson’s name. She specializes in creating and transforming ordinary spaces into black and white masterpieces that look like they’ve been drawn entirely by hand.

If you’re familiar with South Korea’s iconic Greem Café, which now has locations around the world, you’ll quickly understand what Parmson’s art is all about. Her 2D interiors look like they’ve been stripped off a comic book page, and she pays a lot of attention to each furniture piece and each detail while putting them together.

Parmson received a master’s degree in Visual Arts from Strasbourg University and decided to start making black and white furniture and other objects while working on digital drawings after graduation. She doesn’t see herself as an interior designer, but as an installation artist, because her style is deeply rooted in fine art and she usually hosts temporary exhibitions.

“My inspiration for this body of work stems from my love for the medium of drawing. I wanted to push the limits of humble drawing, to see how far I can go with it. To bring the simple black lines off the page and give them more dimension and magnitude,” Parmson told Bored Panda.
