Connecticut-based artist Amy Genser became interested with paper while she was attending a paper-making class at the Rhode Island School of Design, where she earned a masters degree in Graphic Design.

She loves playing with paper and paint to explore her fascination with patter, texture, and color. She uses paper as pigment and creates her intricate paper sculptures by layering, cutting, rolling, and combining paper scrolls of different sizes and colors. Her artwork is like an aerial landscape views or organic forms.

“The natural world is a clear source for Amy’s work. She is fascinated by the flow of water, the shape of beehives, and the organic irregularity of plants, flowers, rock formations, barnacles, moss, and seaweed,” her website reads.
