Artist Gives Cartoon Characters Realistic Human Bodies

Most popular cartoon characters might have their appearance and characteristics based on humans, but they often fail to stay faithful to the source material. And that is quite understandable, as cartoon makers enjoy putting their own stamp on their work instead of following a pre-determined pattern. However, there is one artist who isn’t exactly fond of this practice.

Mohamed Halawany recently presented his new series of illustrations that sees cartoon characters getting realistic human bodies. For example, Bugs Bunny isn’t a talking rabbit who happens to walk on two legs and creates mayhem wherever he goes.

In Halawany’s interpretation, Bugs Bunny is a classy rabbit in a white shirt and sleek black pants. He has a human attitude and stance, with the only thing that sets him apart being his rabbit head.

Halawany gives the same treatment to cartoon characters that are drawn like humans but are not given the proportions of a human body. You can argue that the results are even more interesting.

These illustrations are part of Halawany’s project “Daily Art”, in which he challenges himself to create and complete an artistic concept within two hours. This talented Egyptian artist also works on a number of other projects while creating unique content for clients through his “SEVEN” Creative Studios.
