These Dreamlike Digital Landscapes are Surprisingly Calming

Observing a landscape often evokes a feeling of relaxation and calm for most people. This is even the case when that landscape is digital and entirely made with computer software.

Mo Eid is a Dubai-based multidisciplinary designer who creates dreamlike landscapes that don’t exist anywhere in the world except his imagination. His works are characterized by the use of pastel colors and idyllic settings that result in an unusually soothing effect.

According to Eid, he started the project back in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the lockdowns making it hard to experience landscapes, he decided to create his own as a substitute.

“As a result of not being able to go out and shoot landscapes, I started this series and attempted to create soothing visuals that evoke a sense of quietness and stillness, also to cope with the uncertainty,” the artist explains.

While this was supposed to be a one-off project to keep his mind occupied during the pandemic, Eid found that he enjoys creating these dreamlike landscapes. His followers on social media were also impressed by his works, so he continued the project even as the lockdowns eased. And we are glad he did.
