Artist Illustrates Imaginary Life With a Vampire Boyfriend

It’s funny how public perception can quickly change, just because of a movie or two.

For example, take Dracula. A couple of decades ago, people would be scared to even mention his name. The iconic vampire, after all, was portrayed masterfully by some of the industry’s best artists many years ago, and their performance, to this day, is what most people think of when they hear the word vampire.

Fast forward to a couple of decades later, and we’ve got vampires sparkling in the sunlight.

The popularity of the Twilight franchise led countless hormone-filled teenage girls into imagining what life would be like if they had a vampire as their boyfriend.

Julia Loopstra is, or was, not one of them.

A talented artist, what Julia did was, instead of imagining a beautiful, pale-skinned vampire as her boyfriend, she created a comic about Peg and her relationship with Neculia, a more conventional and “horrific” vampire, especially compared to today’s standards.

The unique and pleasantly drawn comic series is definitely worth taking a look at, if only to satiate your curiousity.
