Artist Inserts Star Wars Characters Into Japanese Style Pictures

An Australian artist who goes by the pseudonym Scadarts has been participating in Reddit Photoshop battles since 2019. His work is best known for using the app to insert pop culture icons and characters into famous paintings and mosaics.

One of his latest projects includes characters from Star Wars, his all-time favorite movie series. Scrolling through his Instagram account, you will see Yoda, Obi-Wan, and many others depicted in Japanese style. You’ll see Jar Jar Binks placed in Johannes Vermeer, Vincent van Gogh, and Edvard Munch’s famous paintings.

He creates his artwork on his iPhone, and every portrait takes him around two to three hours to finish. According to him, the images “involve a lot of work on texture layers and lighting to fit into the original pictures”.

“These past few months have been crazy, and the response to everything has been mind-blowing. I’m very grateful to all the people who follow my work and glad I bring some enjoyment to others with what I do,” he said in a statement for Bored Panda. He also added that even famous Instagrammers, including The Boys and Rosario Dawson like his creations.
