Artist Makes Beautiful Embroideries Inspired by Architecture

Embroider Elin Petronella says her art starts in the streets of Paris. Together with her husband she explores the capital of France and takes photographs, talks, and observes. Growing up with two creative parents, it was natural for her to turn to art.

This is the first design I’ve made where the original inspiration is in movement… from experience the yellow tram (number 53E) only goes up the hill every 30 minutes (though if it doesnt matter which color of tram you will be able to catch a ride with just a 15 minute interval in case you’re considering to visit this particular street of Lisbon😉) I also know now from experience that we probably should have looked up the time table before heading there over-excited to snap the picture haha😅 though I think it was worth the wait in the end 🚃😍👌🏻 what do you think? 🌸 If you’d also like to embroidery this design its one of two patterns that is sent out to all subscribers through the end of October in our monthly pattern program 😍 My husband @_charleshenry_ has designed the second one and you can see it over at his account 😘 just follow the link in my bio @petronella.art or My stories for registration and get started stitching!

“My favourite medium for a couple of years is embroidery. With thread and a needle, I can bring my drawings and paintings to life with varying tangible textures. It’s amazing to both feel and see what you are creating at the same time,” the Sweden-born artist shared in an interview for Ballpit and added that she has always dreamt of living in Paris and doing art every day.

I think this picture best describes my mood today! The heavy heat that struck north Europe as well has finally calmed down and we can all breathe normally again 🥳 It’s funny how before leaving Sweden and experiencing hotter countries I was longing for the warmth, but now I got to admit that I quite like the chillier weather here in the north…. it’s like the mind functions better than when it’s just too hot 🥵plus I don’t have to struggle with my hand sweat while embroidering 🤪🤪 anyone else struggling with that?? .
