Artist Turns Money Into a Beautiful Work of Art

Mari Roldán Cañete is a talented artist from Malaga, Spain, who has loved to paint ever since she was a kid.

She dreamt of becoming a flight attendant because she loves to travel around the world and geting to know different cultures and people. “The easiest way for my art to go around the world was for me to paint on the money! In that way, at least one part of me was travelling,” she told Bored Panda.

She’s happier now that she’s focusing her time on doing what she truly loves and she hopes one day to sell her own artworks.

. La casa amarilla (1.888), Van Gogh 💙 . ▪️A Van Gogh se le ocurrió la idea de montar una comunidad de artistas en Arlés. Alquiló la mitad derecha de la Maison Jeune, en la Place Lamartine (la de las ventanas verdes). Era una casa de dos plantas, orientada al sur, lo que le permitía tener buena luz para pintar y que daba a unos bonitos jardines que no vemos en el cuadro. En el piso de abajo estaba el estudio y la cocina, y arriba dos dormitorios, el suyo y el de Gauguin, que se iría a vivir con él. Mandó a pintar la casa de color amarillo ya que para él el amarillo era el color de la felicidad. . ▪️El toldo que está en la izquierda del edificio era la tienda en la que compraban la comida, y tras el árbol, se encuentra un edificio en el que estaba el restaurante Venissac, donde solían comer a menudo. La casa fue destruida en uno de los bombardeos de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. . ▪️Óleo sobre lienzo, 72 x 91,5cm. . ▪️Se encuentra en el Museo Van Gogh de Ámsterdam.
