Aussie Artist CJ Hendry Creates Spectacular Hyper-Realistic Drawings

The works of Australian artist CJ Hendry give hyper-realism a new meaning. Each of her drawings are carefully filled with so many details that you would swear you are looking at a photograph. And even when told that that is, in fact, a product of sheer talent and colored pencils, you might not believe it.

Hendry’s works are even more impressive when you know that art wasn’t exactly her calling early on. Originally she pursued degrees in architecture and finance while working in Chanel store to finance her studies. In 2013, however, Hendry decided to take a break from work and studies and do what she wants. It turned out that the thing she wanted to do was drawing.

Fast forward eight years, and Hendry is now a successful artist who has several exhibitions under her belt, with her color pencil drawings being part of art collections worldwide. Her calling card are grand-scale artworks that depict everyday objects, fashion items, thick swabs of paint, flower petals, and a lot more in an extremely detailed and lively manner.

In order to achieve the impressive hyper-realistic effect, the artist usually has to spend more than 200 hours making a single piece. But the final result makes it all worth it, as you can see for yourself below.
