Australian News Anchor Sparks Color Debate With Her Dress

The internet is always in the mood for a debate, even when that debate is about the precise color of certain fashion items. After the infamous dress that broke the internet in 2015 and Billie Eilish’s optical illusions sneakers, a simple “white” dress worn by the Australian news anchor is the latest to spark the viral color debate.

It all started when Channel 7 journalist Kendall Gilding shared a photo posing in a dress on her Instagram page. The photo would’ve gone relatively unnoticed outside of her inner circle if it wasn’t for her caption that read “Wednesday in White!”

Gilding’s followers liked the dress, but many of them found the caption misleading. The dress appeared to be blue to many of them, thus sparking a heated debate. Shortly after the photo went viral, the Australian news anchor tried to clear things up by posting a photo from inside the studio, showing that the dress was truly white.

This phenomenon is much easier to explain than the science behind “The Dress” that broke the internet in 2015. Maybe it was the filter, maybe it was the lack of light, or maybe it was the wall color throwing shade, but the mystery was promptly solved.
