Realistic fan arts are often horrific enough as they are. What you once thought were adorable and cute animated characters turn out to look weird, disproportionate, and sometimes, downright scary if they were created to be more realistic.

What this artist is doing is some next-level horror though.

Wil Hughes is a talented digital artist who specializes in 3D models. He specifically is able to create life-like 3D models out of pretty much anything. As a way to showcase his talent, he decided to create 3D renders of popular animated characters? But, he decided to add a twist, he chose to make them look more horrific and creepy.

From funny and cartoony, Wil Hughes has turned familiar pop culture animated characters into nightmare fuel.

If it doesn’t, they think that people can see nearly as clearly as they can. But, that’s not the truth. People with eye conditions require corrective lenses to function normally. People don’t realize just how awful bad vision can be until it happens to them. If it doesn’t, they think that people can see nearly as clearly as they can. But, that’s not the truth. People with eye conditions require corrective lenses to function normally. Otherwise, they won’t be able to do things, such as read and write, let alone drive, properly.

To help shed some more light on the plight of people with eyesight problems, one South African artist decided to create oil paintings inspired by how they see the world.

Using Myopia, a vision problem that blurs the patient’s vision, especially when looking at distant objects, as his inspiration, Philip Barlow paints a series of oil paintings showing how blurry the world really is from the perspective of people who have less-than-ideal eyesight.

It’s a rare but eye-opening (pun intended) glimpse and should help make more of us sympathetic of the plight that these people face every day.

If you want to go have a look at the paintings yourself, be sure to scroll down below.

It’s funny how public perception can quickly change, just because of a movie or two.

For example, take Dracula. A couple of decades ago, people would be scared to even mention his name. The iconic vampire, after all, was portrayed masterfully by some of the industry’s best artists many years ago, and their performance, to this day, is what most people think of when they hear the word vampire.

Fast forward to a couple of decades later, and we’ve got vampires sparkling in the sunlight.

The popularity of the Twilight franchise led countless hormone-filled teenage girls into imagining what life would be like if they had a vampire as their boyfriend.

Julia Loopstra is, or was, not one of them.

A talented artist, what Julia did was, instead of imagining a beautiful, pale-skinned vampire as her boyfriend, she created a comic about Peg and her relationship with Neculia, a more conventional and “horrific” vampire, especially compared to today’s standards.

The unique and pleasantly drawn comic series is definitely worth taking a look at, if only to satiate your curiousity.
