Bento Monsters Takes the Art of Packing Lunch for Your Kids to a Whole New Level

Perfectly packed bento boxes became a whole new sub-genre in the world of food art, as more and more Instagram-loving parents try to take them to the next level. No one does it better than Ming of Bento Boxes, the mom of two who enjoys making cute food for her boys.

Most parents start packing perfectly arranged lunch boxes to convince their picky kids to eat more fruits and veggies, but not Ming. She actually started making charabens, aka food arranged to resemble certain characters, after one of her sons started going to primary school.

“He missed me terribly then and had problems adjusting to the longer hours at primary school. I started packing him charabens, along with lunch notes, hoping to cheer him up and let him feel my presence and love through them,” explains Ming on her official website.

After putting a lot of hard work in her bento boxes, Ming decided to take pictures but putting them inside an album become difficult once they started piling up. She decided to start a blog and Instagram page, with 200,000 followers and counting.

Her bento boxes pay homage to all sorts of animated characters, from Disney heroes to Winnie-the-Pooh and Minions, and we’re bringing you some of the very best.
