Carpenter Turned Artist Creates Intriguing Wood Sculptures

Adam Zeek spent most of his professional career working as a carpenter and remodeling homes. But in his free time, the Oregon native explored many artistic forms encouraged by his mother, who was an accomplished potter.

Recently, Zeek has been focusing on intriguing wood sculptures that he creates at his countryside home in Willamette Valley. His works come in the form of wall panels and cubic sculptures with intricate carvings.

“In the last few years, I have been concentrating on creating wood carved wall panels and free-standing wood sculpture,” he shared in a recent interview. “Creating this kind of work has given me multiple challenges to work through, those challenges have led me to growth in ways I never expected.”

Zeek adds that the majority of his inspiration comes from his family and the animals that live on their small farm.

While his wooden sculptures have made him recognizable in Oregon and beyond, this carpenter-turned-artist continues to simultaneously work on other art projects. This includes creating risograph prints, handmade mirrors, and handmade clothing.

Zeek has exhibited his works on art shows in the past and regularly updates his social media with new projects. He also makes them available for purchase on his webshop.
