Back in the day, movie posters were the reason why many people would go watch a movie. Nowadays, they are almost an afterthought as movie studios lean towards alternative ways to market their new releases.
British artist Doaly is one of those people who still appreciate movie posters and the things they stand for. In recent years, this illustrator and designer have captured the attention of the internet by producing a series of alternative posters for popular movies.
Some of his works are completely original, while others represent an intricate twist on the original idea of the poster. Still, his signature style makes them unique and often even more impressive visual solutions.
However, this is just one of the projects Doaly is passionate about. He explains that while he enjoys reimagining movie posters and doing other poster works, he is also exploring other ways to express his creativity.
“I want to keep exploring and trying out new things, I also want to work in more fields, I love movies but there are other stories I went to tell through my work so I guess I’m looking for those new opportunities where I can push myself creatively,” he shared in a recent interview.
