The highly anticipated sequel to Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 blockbuster Dune, Dune: Part Two, arrived in cinemas earlier this month. One moviegoer was apparently so passionate about the epic sci-fi flick that they decided to show up for a screening in a spectacular way.
In a video Josh Gammon shared on TikTok, a person in a full Fremen costume can be seen storming through the lobby of an AMC Theater in Tulsa, Oklahoma, while riding a sandworm.
The clip received 4.1 million views since being posted, with TikTok users praising the moviegoer in the comments section. It even caught the attention of the official social media team from Dolby, a company that creates audio, visual, and voice technologies for movies.
“The level of commitment we love to see,” Dolby’s social media team commented.
Villeneuve’s Dune movies are based on the series of novels of the same name written by Frank Herbert. The first Dune movie was a box office success, earning $434.8 million while also receiving positive reviews from the critics. Dune: Part Two is proving to be an even bigger hit, earning $506.5 million at the box office and earning even better reviews.
In the Dune universe, sandworms are giant creatures that live on the desert planet Arrakis. Sandworm larves produce a drug called melange, which gives users a longer life span and makes interstellar travel possible, making it the most valuable substance in the universe.
