Trevor Baird, an artist from Montreal, turns regular ceramic vases into unique works of art. Baird has a background in comic book art, which makes it easier to understand why he decided to go for this specific style.
“Ceramics has always been a material that records action very easily,” he told WePresent, “basically turning intimate gestures into stone.”
Baird plays with comic elements to create patterned vases and other ceramic items into something different from what we usually imagine. When you think about ceramic vases, you probably imagine those vintage designs with floral patterns, but he shows that there aren’t limits to creativity in this area.
