Clare Kayden Hines Left Her Job at Apple to Draw on Instagram

Clare Kayden Hines is a gifted writer and illustrator who left her job at Apple’s Video Partnerships to became a full-time artist. On her Instagram account, where she has gained more than 125,000 followers, Hines creates illustrations everyone can relate to. Originally done in English, the creations have been translated into many different languages.

Dealing with anxiety, depicting her days working at the firm, doing Zoom calls, sharing her thoughts about ordinary things are just some of the illustrations you can find on her Instagram account. She has always been into art, but thanks to online tutorials, she managed to learn how to draw digitally. Hines gets inspiration from the things she is surrounded by. She has a list of observations and ideas, wrote down on her phone. Are they going to be transformed into art? Nobody knows, not even Hines.

“I think all of us — women, in particular — are under a huge amount of pressure to do and be everything to everyone. My art is my reaction to these pressures and expectations. It allows me to express my frustrations and anxieties out loud, and also laugh at them,” she said to Huffington Post.
