Coca-Cola’s New Ad Brings Iconic Artworks to Life

Coca-Cola recently launched its new global marketing campaign Masterpiece, and it is already promising to be a huge hit. Not only because it is the world’s favorite soda we are talking about, but also because of the clever and impressive ad that launched it.

As part of the campaign, Coca-Cola released a commercial that features some of the world’s most iconic artworks coming to life in order to bring a bottle of refreshing drink to an art student in need of “uplift and a little inspiration.”

It all starts with the subject of Aket’s “Divine Idyll” extending its arm to grab a bottle of Coca-Cola from one of Andy Warhol’s paintings. From that point on, the bottle exchanges many hands during visits to the world of various other art masterpieces.

The commercial features classics like Edvard Munch’s “Scream,” J.M.W. Turner’s “The Shipwreck,” and Van Gogh’s “Bedroom in Arle.” A number of contemporary artworks received a nod as well, including Fatma Ramadan’s “The Blow Dryer” and Wonderbuhle’s “You Can’t Curse Me.”

The bottle ends up with Johannes Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring,” who opens it up and puts it beside the art student to lift his spirits up and get him engaged again. Check out this cool commercial below.
