Delphine Desane Celebrates Her Heritage With Portraits of Women

Delphine Desane was working in fashion when she has her baby and went on maternity leave. That’s when she fell in love with creating art since then, life was never the same. Desane’s paintings show portraits of women she knows or feels like she knows. They’re not very detailed, but the expressions on their faces are captivating.

“Becoming a mother has been a rebirth for me, physically and emotionally,” the artist told WePresent. “Motherhood is intense and magical at the same time. If it wasn’t for him who knows what I would be doing now.” Art is one of the things motherhood changed for her.

Desane’s parents are Haitian and she was born in France. Art is her way of staying connected to her heritage. You can scroll down to see it and visit her Instagram for more.
