Instagram is home to more catfluencers than we can count, but there’s something that separates the kitty named Aoife from all of them. She’s a disabled cat, whose life turned upside down after one generous LA couple decided to adopt her and give her a forever home.
Aoife’s owners Sabrina and James stumbled upon her photo on Instagram when she was just two weeks old. It was love at first sight and decided to adopt her, but there was something that made her different from the other five cats they were taking care of at the time.
It turned out that Aoife can’t move her back legs because she was born with severe hip dysplasia and a huge curve in her spine. Due to her disability, Sabrina and James spent months working with her foster mom to learn how to take proper care of her, putting her in diapers and giving her meds, but none of these things discouraged them from adopting her.
Sabrina and James eventually decided to share her story with the world, and she became a true Instagram sensation after her videos went viral on this social media platform.
“Her followers are very vocal about how much they love her story, but it wasn’t until her first reel hit 1 million views that we realized we had a little star. She’s stubborn, feisty, fearless, and incredibly strong, which makes for hilarious and inspirational videos,” Sabrina told Bored Panda.
