One of the best things about traveling the world is all the delicious dishes that you get to taste along the way. Himanshu Sehgal learned this first-hand when he started taking an ordinary yellow plate everywhere he went and used it to take viral photos of tasty international foods.
Sehgal’s Instagram page My Yellow Plate became such a huge sensation over the years that he quit his job to run it, but it all started as a happy accident. He found an unused yellow plate in his family kitchen, and no one knew where it came from, but Sehgal was endlessly fascinated by it because it was quite unique.
He took his first photo on this yellow plate when his mom served him dinner one time, and he later decided to take it everywhere he went.
“I realized that this yellow plate could be a perfect partner on my adventures and it would make for an interesting food and travel blog. So I started carrying the yellow plate along with me while traveling and eating on it wherever I stopped,” he told Tripoto.
My Yellow Plate was born and it attracted over 100,000 people to Sehgal’s Instagram page, traveling everywhere from Europe to his home country of India.
