Eva Zethraeus is Celebrating the Beauty of Marine Life With Her Ceramic Art

The immense beauty of marine life has been intriguing artists for centuries, especially in the brave new world when our oceans are under constant threat. Eva Zethraeus is one of the amazing ceramic artists who have chosen to celebrate the beauty of the sea world through their work.

Zethraeus is based in Gothenburg, Sweden and she’s a member of the International Academy of Ceramics. Her Instagram page @ezeth is currently followed by over 100,000 people thanks to the organic, biomorphic sculptures that put her on the map.

At the very start of her journey as an artist, Zethraeus thought she’ll be a painter, but everything changed when she discovered her fascination with ceramics. Her artistic life took a three-dimensional direction once she decided to study ceramic art in Gothenburg, and she’s never looked back.

During her studies at the College for Design & Craft, Zethraeus started exploring the idea of camouflage in nature, and that’s when her fascination with marine life started affecting her work. The idea of animals camouflaging as plants intrigued her, so she started exploring the duality of these life forms through her work.

Zethraeus is now a member of several artistic networks and organizations, in addition to showcasing her art in several galleries and museums in Sweden and around the world.
