Habiba Green Creates Empowering Women Portraits

Humans have been drawing since ancient times, and portraits of women have been one of the most popular subjects. London-based artist Habiba Green also has been depicting empowering female characters. She uses watercolors, markers, oil painting, pencils, and digital tools to create her elegant portraits.

Her love for art began in her earliest years. Her mother put her into oil-painting classes, and since then, art has been a part of her life. Through her work, she tries opening up people’s eyes about essential things.

“I like to express emotions. My work represents feminism itself, expressing the strength, fragility, and sentimentality of it. I like to tell stories through it, and many of them are autobiographical and empowering,” she told Bored Panda and added that Matisse, Sargent, and Goya had been her all-time idols.

People from all around the world follow her remarkable work. She currently has over 25,000 admirers on Instagram, where she usually posts her work.
