Hummingbird Visits Woman’s Garden Every Day to Take a Bath

Hummingbirds are adorable tiny birds that are also quite smart. They are known to have a great memory and can, for example, distinguish each flower they have fed on inside their own territory. They apparently also can remember where to come for their daily baths.

Cordoba, Argentina, native Gabriel Keidinne recently captured an amazing video that shows a little hummingbird coming by the garden while his mother was watering the plants with a hose. The bird approaches the stream of water and washes thoroughly before flying away.

As it turns out, this wasn’t the first time that the same hummingbird came to visit for a bath as it became its ritual.

“My mom went out to water and the hummingbird had already been there a few days before, so she told me to go out with the cell phone,” Keidinne shared. “As soon as she started giving the plants water, the hummingbird appeared and took a bath.”

Hummingbirds enjoy frequent baths as it helps them clean their feathers from debris and cool off on a hot day. They will take any bath they can get, but if they can, they will usually pick out showering under the stream of water rather than taking a dip.
