Italian Artist Creates Breathtaking Sand Castles

If you’ve ever been to the beach, you must have tried making sandcastles. So did Leonardo Ugolini, a 52-year-old artist whose talent includes making sandcastles and sculptures all over the world. Born and raised in Forli, Italy sells his own merchandise and teaches online classes.

Hogwarts, the Millennium Falcon, and portraits of famous people are just some of the works Ugolini has shared with his Instagram followers. He began his artistic career when he was a little boy. While watching Japanese cartoons, he got hooked into the world of spaceships and aliens which he later recreated using pencils, modeling plasticine, Lego bricks, and sandcastles.

After attending University, the artist specialized in building large scenic backgrounds and is passionate about small but precise details. Also, on his social media accounts, he posts time-lapses of himself making his masterpieces. He has written books and is currently involved in the creation of a card game and a small book for children, which naturally has to do with sand.

If you’re interested to see how—with the help of his ten fingers and imagination—he creates remarkable pieces of art, check out some of his images. However, let’s hope he finishes his castles before the sea washes them away.
