Jayne Smith is Celebrating the Beauty of Nature Through Her Stained Glass Art

Stained glass art is a truly underrated art form, and those who practice it deserve all the praise in the world. Jayne Smith is one of the best stained-glass artists that you’ll ever come across, and she’s using her whimsical creations to celebrate the beauty of Mother Nature.

Smith is the mastermind behind Foiled and Fluxed, and she’s been mastering her craft for over four years. She shared her very first stained-glass creation in late 2019, and she’s been honing her skills and developing her distinctive personal style ever since.

Smith kept her creations pretty simple in the beginning, making stained glass versions of ferns, succulents, and feathers, but it didn’t take her long to make her work more complex. Some of her early works took shape of mushrooms, and they went on to become the most common motif in her work in the years to come.

She went on to craft dozens of mushroom-inspired stained-glass artworks, taking shape of everything from tiny mushroom houses to clocks and dream catchers. Even though they obviously hold a special place in her heart, Smith is no stranger to drawing inspiration from other places, from the animal kingdom to pop culture.
