Can you imagine going to a McDonald’s and hearing classical music play from the speakers? Well, that’s just the kind of experience offered by one fast food joint in the Welsh city of Wrexham! Its managers decided to play classical music during certain hours to combat bad behavior.

This news made headlines shortly after a group of 20 to 30 youngsters had caused “upset” at the local branch of McDonald’s. The police had to intervene and the management of the fast food restaurant came up with a creative way to combat the issue—through the calming power of classical music.

Wrexham’s McDonald’s released a statement where they introduced a number of measures to combat anti-social behavior affecting their restaurants and the wider area, including “playing classical music from 17:00 GMT and turning off the wi-fi at certain points in the evening.”

Many are doubting this decision will have the desired effect, and the news caused a lot of commotion on Twitter. Some said it was a smart move, while others felt it won’t prevent the fights, just make them more poetic, like in Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange.

This isn’t the first time Wrexham found itself in the middle of a viral news story, and it probably won’t be the last. This Welsh town became a true sensation after Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney became co-owners of the football club Wrexham A.F.C. and chronicled their journey in a docu-series Welcome to Wrexham.
