Instagram is overflowing with illustrators who enjoy infusing their comics with some dark humor and Jenna Noble is one of the very best. Her page Jenn’s Comics became a true sensation thanks to her unique sense of humor and wild, dark twists.
Noble is an artist and cartoonist from New England, and she claims that “making bad comics gives [her] dopamine” in her Instagram bio. She discovered her passion for drawing when she was seven or eight years old and she hasn’t stopped since.
Even as a child, Noble could make people laugh with her comics, and she honed her talent as an adult. She claims her comics weren’t very good when she first started drawing them, but she never gave up.
“It was exciting to me, because something made me feel special about creating comics like I was making that little girl I used to be proud. When I feel uninspired, I try to return to the way she would think,” Noble told Bored Panda.
She rose to prominence after taking part in Inktober four years ago and many people who discovered her back then decided to stick around. She believes people find her comics hilarious because she enjoys drawing animals and throwing fun pup culture references in there, but unexpected twists are also one of their strongest suits.
