Francesca Murray is Trying to Encourage Women of Color to Explore the World

Traveling the world on your own can be a scary experience for female travelers, especially for women of color. Francesca Murray is fully aware of all the ups and downs it can bring and she’s trying to use her travel blog One Girl One World to encourage other women to hit the road.

Murray describes herself as “one of the pioneers of the Black travel movement”, and her Instagram page attracted over 50,000 followers since she started sharing her adventures with the world. She has over a decade of travel blogging experience under her belt, but how did she embark on this journey?

Before becoming a travel and lifestyle blogger, Murray graduated with BA in journalism and public relations. She spent several years working as a celebrity publicist and escorted countless celebrities down the red carpet at major award shows, premieres, and other events.

Once she turned to travel blogging, Murray made it her mission to uplift other women of color and give them the resources they need to explore the world.

“After being bitten by the travel bug, she decided to leave the world of Public Relations behind to pursue her mission to increase representation for women of color in the travel space – even if it meant getting in front of the camera herself,” writes Murray on her blog.
