Jolanda Stokkermans’ Food Art Looks Too Good to Be Eaten

Food art can take many different shapes and forms and Jolanda Stokkermans is presenting it in a way that no one else is. She became a true Instagram sensation after her kids convinced her to join this social media platform and share her edible art with the world.

Stokkermans attracted around 25,000 followers to her Instagram page @demealprepper, but she never expected she’ll come this far because her beginnings were pretty humble.

“When I started ‘De Meal Prepper’, it was meant to be about preparing food for several days in advance one afternoon, convenient for busy people and families. Trying to search for nice stock photos on the Internet, I decided to take my own,” Stokkermans told Bored Panda.

Everything changed once she started crafting food art, shaped like human portraits, landscapes, and animals. Her kids encouraged her to open an Instagram page and share her work with the world.

Stokkermans’ food art is 100% edible, and it can take her between two and four hours to put together each plate. She usually goes with the flow when picking the ingredients, going with foods that she already has at home. When it comes to giving her dishes a splash of color, Stokkermans mostly uses veggies, tomato sauce, soy sauce, spices, and natural food coloring.
