Julia Rothman Illustrates Financial Stories for The New York Times

If you’ve picked up a copy of the New York Times recently, you could’ve seen the new column called Scratch, in which illustrator Julia Rothman and writer Shaina Feinberg do their best work in order to explain some of the common and not so common financial examples from real life.

Rothman’s art perfectly illustrates the stories that explain the real cost of opening a coffee shop, going through the IVF process, or being a drag queen in New York City. Her warm style makes financial stories that are often sterile more relatable to all of us, no matter if we’re currently in the same situation or not.
