Life is Hard—Follow Stacie Swift

Illustrator, coffee drinker, and mother of three, Stacie Swift is all about those positive vibes. Focusing on positivity, self-care, and mental wellbeing, her illustrations are a colorful combination of hand-drawn images and type, all aimed at spreading some kindness (on the internet, as well as in real life).

By combining bold artwork with relatable and honest captions Swift has established a massive Instagram following of over 230k people. Her content also includes some tips and tricks on how to stay positively present (you’ve got this!). One post titled “Don’t Believe Everything You Think”, helps you get back on track when you feel the imposter syndrome kick in. “Practice saying and thinking positive things about yourself,” writes Swift. “Keep a record of praise, positivity and things you’ve done well,” she adds.

Another recent post includes “Six Tips For When We Feel Overwhelmed”. “Have a break; take some deep breaths,” notes Swift. “Spend some time doing something you enjoy. When everything is “GO, GO, GO” don’t forget to take a moment to recalibrate and refocus.”

There’s also some creative content you can download, such as cheerful posters to hang in the work place or a cute compliment tear sheet. “In a world of online trolls and where the kindness of strangers can get a little lost in the sea of upsetting news headlines, and the chaos day to day life, an uplifting comment or a note of praise can go a long way!” observes Swift.

Swift’s debut book, “You Are Positively Awesome” is due to be published by Pavilion in May 2020. But in the meantime, you’re more than welcome to follow her work online and pay it forward.
