Lisa Bryan Finds Success as a Food Blogger After Leaving Her Old Job Due to Burnout

Burnout is pretty common in modern workplaces, and Lisa Bryan was lucky enough to recognize it and do something about it. After noticing her corporate job was negatively impacting her physical and mental health, she decided to leave it all behind and start her food blog Downshiftology.

Before attracting 2.4 million YouTube subscribers and almost 300,000 Instagram followers with her food-related content, Bryan was a self-described “type A” corporate workaholic. She worked as an executive for healthcare companies, and long hours, high stress, and poor diet were essential parts of her daily life.

In addition to experiencing major burnout at work, Bryan was diagnosed with several autoimmune diseases. This proved to be an eye-opening moment for her and she decided to leave her job behind and turn over a new leaf.

“Eventually, I realized my work and lifestyle were affecting my health, so I opted for a ‘life do-over’ and quit my job. After several months off, the dots finally connected and I learned how to really nourish my body – through food and lifestyle,” she explains on her food blog.

Bryan is now on a quest to help other people make a positive lifestyle change through the power of healthy eating. Her food blog is filled with delicious, wholesome, gluten-free recipes and guides for people who are just now embracing a healthy lifestyle.
