Fossil hunting may seem like an unusual hobby, but it can be quite fun, educational, and rewarding. Logan of East Coast Fossils seems to agree and he built quite a following on Instagram since he started sharing his passion for fossil hunting with the rest of the world.
Logan is based in Virginia, where he lives with his wife, kids, and two golden retrievers. He grew up in the Outer Banks of NC and fell in love with the great outdoors at a young age – and that’s how his obsession with fossils started.
Logan was just 19 years old when he started hunting for prehistoric shark teeth, and he’s been doing it ever since. He’s a huge advocate for shark and ocean conservation, but shark teeth aren’t the only thing that he’s looking for when exploring the coast of Virginia.
In addition to shark teeth, you can also find everything from scallops to fossilized corals on his Instagram page. His posts are highly educational and they’ll teach you a lot about pre-historic fossils since Logan always tries to include names and descriptions of fossils that he stumbled upon.
His Instagram page @east_coast_fossils is now followed by over 70,000 people and he runs a web shop selling apparel and accessories to fellow fossil lovers.
