If you still haven’t heard of Maine Coon cats, buckle up since you’re in for a treat. They’re the largest domesticated cat breed, known by the nickname “the gentle giant”, and Lotus is the best representative of her breed that you can find on Instagram.
Maine Coon cats owe their name to the American state where they originate from, and they actually happen to be the official state cat of Maine. Lotus, however, comes from an entirely different place. She originates from Spellbound’s Maine Coon cattery near Oslo but currently resides in the middle of Sweden with her proud owners.
Just like the rest of Maine Coon cats, Lotus is much bigger and weighs much more than your regular feline. She weighs just over 10 kg, and that’s one of her most unusual features that left about 350,000 of her Instagram followers in awe.
According to the official website started by Lotus’ owners, she’s a calm, kind, and gentle cat that enjoys sleeping on the balcony or on the backrest on the couch, experiencing nature, and being around other animals. Luckily, she’s not the only pet in her household and has great company in her fellow felines Chivaz and Lady Marion.
