Man Lands a Role on “CSI” After Posing as a Dead Body for Almost a Year

Turning your dreams into a reality is quite possible if you are determined and work hard. Just ask the man who posed as a dead body for almost a year and managed to land a role on the hit crime drama CSI: Vegas.

Back in late October 2021, Kentucky native Josh Nalley uploaded only his third-ever video on TikTok. The clip showed him just pretending to be dead in a small forest stream.

The following day he uploaded another one in which he also posed dead. This time, the clip came with an explanation: “playing dead until I’m cast in a movie or TV show as a dead body.”

Despite facing long odds, Nalley has kept putting out the videos daily since then. There were no offers for a role, but he was slowly building a devoted following on social media, with users being both impressed with his “dead man” skills and eager to find out whether he’ll achieve his goal.

Finally, after 321 days, he received an email from the producers of CSI: Vegas. They spotted him on TikTok and wanted him for the show.

Nalley ended up appearing in the episode “There’s the Rub,” in which he played a dead body of a Michelin-starred chef.

He loved the experience so much that he now intends to keep on building his acting career as a dead man.

“I don’t like speaking on camera, but I can lie there and act like I am dead pretty easily,” he told Courier Journal. “Having done more than 300 of these posts, I have progressed and gotten better.”
