When it comes to her illustrations, Marine de Quénetain has that “je ne sais quoi” quality. Colorful and uplifting, they treat the fashion scene as an endless resource for inspiration and creativity, but in return add to its vibrancy.

Having graduated from ESAG Penninghen, Académie Julian in Paris in 2009 with a Masters Degree in Art Direction and Graphic design, the French beauty illustrator has risen to prominence fairly quickly.

Her work (not strictly restricted to illustration) includes a variety of styles and disciplines—anything from pattern design and posters to book covers. Since 2013, de Quénetain also runs her own illustration studio, with clients as big as Chanel, Hermes, Goop, and Louboutin.

In an interview with the L’Oreal blog, de Quénetain maintained that beauty is essential. “Beauty is what makes the world go round,” she stressed. “I also love this quote from Gabrielle Chanel: ‘Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.’ Focus on how to develop your inner happiness to let explode your beauty.”

But beauty isn’t only sought after in elite circles. De Quénetain’s illustrations, most often than not, explore the hidden beautiful corners of the day to day—peeking into a beauty cabinet or a woman’s dresser. Here are some highlight from her Instagram page.
