Moms would do anything to make their children happy—and that’s why Helen Sadler has been building a whimsical winter wonderland for her 7-year-old girl Erin since 2016.

Each year, hand-in-hand with her father, Sadler uses cardboard, fake snow, and other recycled materials to make their project and bring smiles to Erin’s face. She is an adorable kid who lives with an insatiable zest for life—but unfortunately also has several life-threatening and limiting diseases.

The first project was born four years ago when Erin was too ill to visit Lapland—but her crafty mom had a great idea. She brought Lapland to their conservatory, and since then it’s become a tradition.

“Every year, I try to make it better than before, and I don’t plan anything. I just sit down when I have respite hours and try to create something. There is always snow, a castle, and a queen but made slightly differently,” she said to MetroUK.

Despite all the doctors’ predictions, her daughter was able to see this year’s creation as well. This year, Sadler wants to support the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, so she asks her followers to make donations in Erin’s name.

Have a peek at the magical wonderland below.

For the last 4 years I have, with the assistance of my father created a winter wonderland in his conservatory for my daughter Erin. Erin’s is a very special 7 year old with an insatiable zest for life and multiple life threatening and limiting diseases. I have nearly lost her many times. This year’s wonderland, as always was for Erin but I had hoped to work with the Rainbow Trust Childrens Charity, to try and support their incredible and desperately important work that they do with children with serious, life threatening and limiting illness and their families. Erin became critically ill in late October and we spent November in Great Ormond Street hospital, she underwent 3 surgical procedures in 4 consecutive days, general anaesthetic with her heart condition poses significant threat to her life but she triumphed. We are now in our local hospital, possibly till the new year. Erin continues to defy the odds and amaze everyone with her reliance and tenacity. By utilising 6 hours of home leave, split over 3 days and the encouragement of Erin the Wonderland is now complete. Heart, soul, grandads carpentry skills, cardboard, fake snow and huge amount of recycling has made this a reality. If you enjoy this please can I ask you to help the current and future children and their families during the hardest and most painful times imaginable. I speak from personal experience the difference the family support workers from the Rainbow Trust Childrens Charity make.
