Artist Nicole McLaughlin is a master at turning common things into fun and unusual apparel. She used to work as a graphic designer for Reebok before deciding to give herself more time to create art. McLaughlin creates upcycled clothes, shoes, and various household items using bags of candy, old jackets, bags of popcorn, and similar materials.
These projects are a part of McLaughlin’s effort to create eco-friendly fashion. “I would go to thrift stores and try to find something that I could make something new out of,” the artist told WWD. Her creations are a fun way to invite people to think about using the resources they already have before buying new things.
