Murmure’s Art Shows How Trash Bags Take Control of Humans and Animals

Paul Ressencourt and Simon Roche are French artists who work under the name Murmure. Their latest series shows how black trash bags affect the lives of people and animals. Their art is not subtle; it’s straightforward, meant to raise awareness of environmental issues.

“The main idea was to play with the colors of a regular black garbage bag as much as possible. Not only for dramatic appeal, but also for the depth of shades and, somehow, the elegance of its texture and reaction to light. That’s why we use graphite pencil, to achieve this texture,” the artists told This is Colossal.

They used various mediums for this series. From paper drawings to wall murals, each artwork tells a different story of how our environment is suffering due to our habits. They want people to see hope in their art because there’s still time to do something about these issues. Scroll down to see the series.
