Emillie Ferris started practicing embroidery back in 2013 when it wasn’t nearly as popular as it is today. Ever since then, she made it her mission to stitch a few rows every day. Ferris is based in the U.K. where she embroiders beautiful butterflies, bees, and other insects surrounded by colorful flowers.

Just popping by to say THANK YOU to everyone that has been supporting me and choosing my hand embroidery tutorials ✨♥️ Learning to embroider was the best thing I ever did, so I’m happy I can share the love with you all ☺️ On a side note, for years I’ve been wanting to get myself a sewing machine and start making some cushions, wall hangings and clothes if I can, so fingers crossed little ole me finally does that this year ☺️♥️ does any one know any good websites or digital sewing patterns that would be good for me to try? Something similar to my own embroidery patterns would be awesome, but in sewing form basically with step by step photos etc..♥️ thank you 🥰

As she tells This is Colossal, much of her work is inspired by vintage entomology illustrations. She reviews each illustration several times before starting to work on her own project. She says that her art is “inspired by nature, with a tiny sense of magic.”

✨ Which is your favourite? ✨ 🐝🌙🦋🍄 It makes me so happy to see my tiny collection of embroidery designs growing slowly but surely ☺️ Thank you to everyone that has purchased one of these embroidery tutorials over the past year! Your support helps me pay my rent and buy food and that’s just friggin awesome, so thanks a lot guys, I hope I provide a fair service/exchange of goods to you all and I will continue to try my best to do so ♥️ One day I hope to own a house so that I can have lots of cats and dogs running around and a garden to chill out in and host gatherings and have enough space to invite friends over 😍I am so grateful that I’m able to get by and stay cozy in our teeny flat where I embroider mini creations in my own little world ☺️ perhaps I will finally be brave soon and start teaching workshops, I have been wanting to for years 💕 anyways!
