Nikki Fewings is Celebrating the Beauty of the Cornish Coast Through Her Shell Art

Nikki Fewings used to spend hours collecting shells on the beach as a child, but she couldn’t have even imagined she’ll still be doing it well into her adulthood. Her love for shells was reborn once she moved to Cornish, and she’s now celebrating the beauty of its coastline through her brand Lily & Sea.

Fewings decided she wanted to study marine biology in her youth, and went on to work as a SCUBA diver everywhere from Mexico to the Maldives. She became even more passionate about marine life and ocean conservation during this time, and her love followed her all the way to Cornish.

She fell back in love with collecting shells during her honeymoon in 2017 and started transforming them into artwork after moving to Cornwall, where she spent all her free time on her hands exploring its beautiful beaches.

“I had collected shells from our touring trip around the southwest of England and didn’t want to just leave them sitting in a jar. I set them into a frame – just a simple grid with the different shells – but loved how it turned out,” wrote Fewings on her official website.

Her business blossomed in the years to come, and she decided to quit her job in 2021 and fully focus on running Lily & Sea.
