Paper Artist Tells His Favorite Greek Mythology Stories Using Paper Theatre

In school, we all learned about Greek Mythology, a part of the religion in Ancient Greece that contains stories about gods, goddesses, heroes, and rituals. Some of the most popular ones are Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Aphrodite, Hera, and Athena, the subjects of many tails.

Abraham Matias Calendar is a gifted illustrator and paper artist who has been fascinated by Greek myths for quite some time. That’s why he decided to start his project, where he shows stories by creating miniature paper theatre.

The Mexican-born, Los Angeles-based artist uses a technique of cutting characters and props and photographing them inside a miniature theatre. If you look at the images he creates and later posts on his Instagram profile, you could easily mix them with illustrations.

The freelance illustrator also specializes in illustration for film, TV, books, and other various pop culture properties. And thanks to his remarkable talent, Calendar had the opportunity to work for massive companies including Disney, Netflix, HBO Blizzard, and Lego.
