Parrot Lands on Reporter’s Shoulder During Live TV and Steals His Airpod

What was supposed to be another routine live TV appearance for Chilean journalist Nicolas Krumm recently turned into a comical situation that has been entertaining social media users for the past several days.

Krumm was doing a field report on increasing crime rates and safety concerns when a parrot landed on his shoulder. The journalist kept things professional and continued to deliver his monologue despite the unexpected guests. But at the same time, he tried to get the cameraman’s attention so he would take a closer shot of the bird.

The cameraman figured out what Krumm was asking and switched to the close shot, at which point the parrot snagged the Airpod earpiece from his ear and flew away.

Shortly after, the video surfaced on the internet and took social media by storm. On Twitter alone, it got more than five million views in a couple of days.

“The parrot had been watching us from railings nearby, and I think my earpiece had got its attention because you can see it looking at it out of the corner of its eye before it takes it,” Krumm said after the incident. “I had to carry on talking because we were in the middle of a live broadcast.”

Krumm also shared that the parrot didn’t get away with the loot. The cameraman later did a quick search of the surrounding area and found the Airpod in the grass, with the culprit nowhere to be found.
