Stained glass is a truly underrated art form, but Instagram is home to many artists who will make you see it in a whole new light. Kara Bussey is elevating modern glassmaking through her company Glimpse Glass, and she’s using her delicate creations to put nature front and center.
According to her official website, Bussey has been creating stained glass items for 20 years, after learning the basic techniques in high school. She perfected the craft in her native Vancouver Island and decided to start her own brand called Glimpse Glass in 2013.
Her Instagram page is now followed by over 75,000 people, which makes her one of the most popular stained glass artists on this social media platform. She describes herself as a pioneer of floral wreaths and moons, and most of her creations incorporate some natural elements.
In addition to selling her stained glass art, Bussey is also trying to help other people to pursue this art form. She’s selling some of her most popular patterns on Etsy, in addition to publishing a book called Stained Glass for Beginners, which includes projects designed to introduce you to modern stained glass, ranging from suncatchers to 3D succulent garden and tropical plant mirrors.
