Playful Baby Elephant Interrupts Reporter in a Hilarious Way

Elephants might look scary because of their size, but they are not all that dangerous. As a matter of fact, they can be very playful, as a viral video from Nairobi, Kenya shows.

Alvin Kaunda, a journalist for KBC, recently paid a visit to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to do a story about orphaned elephants and how human actions are affecting their habitat. However, he soon discovered that doing a report while being surrounded by elephants is much harder than it seems.

Kaunda was in the middle of his monologue when one baby elephant decided he didn’t want to stand still in the background anymore. Using its trunk, the animal first played with the reporter’s ear, before petting him on the head and then completely covering his face.

To his credit, Kaunda tried to remain composed and continue with the story despite the distractions. However, once the elephant started feeling his nose and reaching for his mouth, the journalist couldn’t help himself but burst into laughter.

“At first I felt the elephant trunk’s contact on my back but decided to keep going because I was doing my almost 10th take of my piece to camera,” Kaunda said afterward. “I wasn’t gonna let anything stop me. Until the baby elephant stuck its trunk in my mouth.”

The video of the hilarious incident made its way to the internet and immediately became viral. Check it out below.
