Police officers at one police station in Leicestershire county, UK, recently received an unexpected visitor. A Border Collie named Rosie walked into the police station and turned herself in. However, the dog didn’t commit any crime, she was just lost.
Leicestershire Police shared the story on their official Facebook page, posting a video from security cameras that show the dog walking into the station and then making herself comfortable at the station’s waiting room.
The police officers welcomed the dog with some water as they worked to find out who the adorable canine is. Luckily, her collar had the information about the owner, so they quickly tracked him down.
“Our staff fetched some water for Rosie, and made fast friends with plenty of fuss,” wrote Leicestershire Police in a caption.
As it turned out, Rosie was on a walk with her owner Steve and sibling Laser. The group enjoyed a nice evening in the park when someone set off fireworks, causing Rosie to run away. But this smart girl knew exactly where to go when she found out she strayed too far from her owner.
“I was so pleased and so happy she was safe and so proud of her that she was clever enough to find her way to the police station,” her mom Julie told BBC after.
