Police Dog From Michigan Becomes a Viral Sensation After Stealing Officer’s Lunch

We’ve all dealt with co-workers who have a habit of taking other people’s food from time to time, but what would you do if the co-worker in question was a dog? Police officers in Michigan decided to punish a police K-9 named Officer Ice by chagrining him with theft, and his mugshot went viral shortly after they shared it online.

Officer Ice is a police dog from the Wyandotte Police Department (WPD), based in Wyandotte, Michigan. He has a habit of taking food right from co-workers’ hands as they walk by, but things reached a boiling point earlier this month when he stole a lunch from his fellow Officer Barwig.

Officer Ice’s co-workers decided to poke some fun at the whole situation by taking his mugshot and sharing it on Facebook, with a lengthy description of his “crime”. People quickly jumped to Ice’s defense and all charges were quickly dropped.

Chief Brian Zalewski of the WPD described Ice as a “very well-socialized police dog”, who’s been helping the local police officers since he was just six months old.

“Although Ice is getting a little gray in the beard and not on everyday patrol, he is still very much a part of our department… Since Ice has been with our police department for so long, he is well known and loved in our community,” Zalewski told Fox News.

What do you think? Is Ice guilty as charged?
