Japan is one of those magical countries we should all visit at least once in a lifetime, and Adele “Addy” Collette is exploring it in style. This travel blogger put a lot of effort into fixing up an old converted van so she should embark on an epic road trip across Japan.
Collette is the mastermind behind TikTok page @addy_road, where she’s followed by over 850,000 people. We’ve seen her explore several countries over the years, from Vietnam to Thailand, but her life turned upside down when she decided to head to Japan.
She started this adventure by buying a van and converting it into a camper. She admits this is one of the hardest things she’s ever done and that she faced a lot of self-doubt along the way, but waking up at sunrise above a sea of clouds after her first night sleeping in the van made her realize she needs to keep going.
“This has always been a dream of mine and I’m still in disbelief that I’m doing it. It’s been really challenging so far but I’ve learned so much already. I don’t know if I’ll enjoy ‘van life’ yet but I feel the most alive when I’m traveling,” she explained on Instagram.
Collette embarked on a few shorter van trips before hitting the road full-time, and she went everywhere from Kyoto and Nara to Osaka and Tokyo in the past few months.
